Welcome to my website. I am an artist and teacher who works in watercolor and acrylic. I teach both for the
Art League in Alexandria, VA and I conduct workshops around the country. My goal as an artist and teacher
is to be creative and to help my students learn to
interpret the
world around them and not to promote the belief the goal
of art is the perfect rendering of a subject. One of my core messages is that art is a
creative process and is not just the sum total of the work we sell. I also caution that in the era of digital
cameras we must really look both inside and outside for the subject matter that lights our artistic fires or our
work will be lacking everything but technique. Good art is the result of hard work and dedication. It also only
happens when the artists finds their own story to tell and learns to do so with their own unique lanquage. At
this website I will show you some of my paintings, offer some of my musings and give you a few lessons to
take and learn from. I hope to hear from you in the future and see you in one of my classes. Click on the link
below and visit my new and exciting gallery
website
which includes my creation series and body of work exploring my interpretation of the creation of the
earth and showcases new abstract paintings.
